Here I Stand covers the Reformation and the climatic years thereafter. Starting with Martin Luthers 95 Thesis card the Protestant player begins to change areas of the board from the Catholic faith to Protestant. If that was all there was to it the Hapsburgs and Papacy could easily crush the nascent religion. To their discomfort these 2 powers must deal with the Ottomons, France and England, all with their own agenda and aims. The Ottomon player for example, may engage in piracy to win VP and hence the game whilst the French player may build Chatuex (spelling?) to earn VP. The English player is seeking to find an heir to Henry the 8th, if he finds his way to Anne then the Protestant religion finds it way into England. Card and dice play may yet see Catholic Mary take the throne and the counter reformation is under way! What other game can see debates between those of the Protestant faith and the Catholic, with a badly losing Protestant burnt at the stake as an heretic. The game has huge amount of colour, is fun to play and is a must for all multi players out there.
